A FLAWED APPROACH

All habits, irrespective of type or context, are bundled together on the assumption that “bad” and “good” habits dictate each other. The picture is necessarily narrow and inaccurate, with no allowance for how stress effects feelings and behaviour.

Temperament

The Old Model

Popular temperament typologies categorise according to habits. E.g., 4 categories of habit combine to define 4 types.

POWER

An extroverted, task-focused approach

DETAILS

An introverted, task-focused approach

COMPASSION

Introversion favouring feelings & people

POPULAR

Extroversion favouring people & feelings

A RELIABLE APPROACH

Our research showed a 49% average variation exists in any direction. Knowing these shifts allows for optimal decision making and self development choices

Temperament

The neuro-m model

The 4 category system is useful only if it identifies changes in neurobiological patterns that occur according to stress states. Relying on an “average”, as often used by other methods and shown in the example above, is inaccurate and misleading. The result above is split here to give you the real picture:

POSITIVE HABITS (Blue)

When this person is feeling good, expect feelings and relationships, with individuals and groups, to dominate.

NEGATIVE HABITS (Yellow)

When this person is feeling stressed, expect them to often withdraw and reduce their empathy, instead focusing on their own defence through fussy, pedantic behaviours aimed at righting wrongs and regaining inner balance.

TEMPERAMENT

ASSESSMENT

Explore predictable patterns in:

  • Introversion vs extroversion
  • Socio-emotional vs task orientation
  • Common behavioural habits
  • Changes in behaviour due to stress
  • General positivity and behavioural balance

The Neuro-M Temperament Assessment is the essential base for all recruitment and self-development choices

TEMPERAMENT

MINDFUL ENGAGEMENT TRAINING

There is no “right” or “wrong” temperament. But there are situationally helpful and unhelpful behaviours. Learn:

  • The ancient origins and modern neuroscience of temperament
  • Temperament types and behavioural patterns
  • How to take control of your thoughts and behaviours
  • How to be, and be seen as, your best self

Mindful Engagement Training is highly recommended for executives at every level.

TEMPERAMENT

MYTHS, POP-CULTURE AND SCIENCE

For 2300 years temperament has been:

  • A popular way of feeling we understand why people do the things they do
  • An unhelpful way to put people in categories and plan their futures
  • A best guess without scientific basis

We compared current popular methods of measuring temperament to modern neuroscience and our own statistical research, finding they are all inherently inaccurate and unreliable, despite often “feeling” correct.

Only NEURO-M Temperament Assessments and Training are based in science.

TEMPERAMENT

THE ONLY ACCURATE METHOD

Neurobiology determines that thoughts and behavioural patterns:

  • Are repetitious, forming beliefs, assumptions and habits
  • Are fundamentally affected by stress and positivity
  • Are often contrary to underlying motivations and character
  • Can be managed and “improved” with awareness and practice

Understanding how your behaviours are influenced and how they affect you and others, allows you to become the best version of yourself in any situation without compromising your integrity.
